ST-E2 Red Window (Focus Assist Beam) replacement?

The front red acrylic panel on the focus assist beam on my ST-E2 seems to have fallen off on a gig a few weeks ago. I can't find it anywhere.
Does anyone know where to get a replacement and how much they might cost?

gota try and call canon direct for something like that.

or find a used/broken ST-E2

Perhaps I'll email them. I'm afraid I'll get the ol' "We currently do not offer that item as a replacement. If it has come off, your unit is broken and needs to be replaced. We can offer you a replacement for $299.99..."

If not them, I am sure I saw it on ebay in the last week from someone else maybe. IIRC it was not expensive.

Why is it red anyway? Maybe easier on the eyes in dark conditions?
