Last weekend I was out shooting some street shots when I came across Cheryl, a crack addicted prostitute.

I'm always interested in getting people's story, so I asked her if she would talk to me for a few minutes and let me take a few pictures. To my surprise she was actually pretty enthusiastic about it.

When she asked me what I wanted to know I told her, "whatever you want to tell me," and that was all it took. She really opened up to me.

I've attached a couple of the shots I took, but if you get the chance I'd really
appreciate it if you could check out the whole story on my friends photoblog:

great set and story. (yes i read it all)
im impressed you actually picked her up and did this, good for you. i think its great you find the good in people no matter what their doing and you take the time to learn their story.
i have met about 150 crack addicted prostitutes but not one of them wanted to meet me, i only met them as i arrested them for shop lifting and fraud. (however i do have a polaroid of each)

Thanks for taking the time to check out the whole story TH. Even before I picked up a camera I've always had that urge to get a closer look and find out someone's story. Which can be good and bad.

Ive had a couple of friends in law enforcement and they've said it can leave you with a really jaded view of people because you seem to only encounter them at their lowest... But somebody has to do it and I've got a lot of respect for those that do.
