Fall Backroad - which one?

A fall backroad shot, give two different treatments. First one is pretty standard with only changes like exposure/sharpness etc. The second one is with "orton" effect.

Would appreciate comments and critique on both, and which one do you like better.

The first one, hands down. Sublime beauty with the more natural colors. You've nailed the composition, in my opinion.

I think on the 2nd one, the roadway is too sharp and it throws off the picture. If the entire shot had a soft, painted look, then I think it would work, but otherwise the contrast between the sharp road and the soft trees is unsettling.

First one isn't bad. The second one is overdone. I think it could use another element somewhere to create more interest.
