So this past Friday morning I was catching up on my DVR'd shows from the week and I started watching the Southpark episode "Whale Whores." I'm a huge Southpark fan but this episode really had me laughing from the start. So, about 1/2 way through the episode I noticed an image of Capt. Paul Watson used that looked a lot like one that I made a few weeks ago at a Surfrider Event in Los Angeles. I paused the tv and grabbed my laptop and sure enough the image used on the show appeared to be mine. Later that afternoon, I stopped by the office on the way to photograph Korn in Orange County and the managing editor confirmed the image was mine. Now, I usually don't get excited when I see one of my images in print unless it's a cover or double truck but this one had me really excited! Being such a huge fan of Southpark, to see my work immortalized on that show is ******* awesome! I've reached the pinnacle of my career, double truck in Playboy and Southpark!

They seem to have scrawled the word 'turd' on your photo.

Oh god, I need to see this episode. I love whale wars not for the save the whales factor, but the epic drama and the hope that the captain's ridiculous antics will provide good entertainment.

Yes, my agent negotiated the entire deal. I can't believe how fast those guys work... I made the picture on 10/9 and it aired on 10/28. I hear that they can turn an episode out as fast as 3 days...

South Park's always been great with that.

Pretty funny to see your photo in there randomly  I was reading once that someone was watching American Dad and noticed one of the characters reading something in a book that they (the person watching) had actually put on Wikipedia, so their claim to fame was similar to yours. But yours is better ;)

Congrats, I'd be stoked if one of my photos was anywhere on TV

I would imagine that would be part of the agreement - to "modify" the photo... and they did.. LOL...

As long as they pay me, they can do whatever they want with the image. I'm an equal opportunity capitalist.

You will enjoy it. Especially if you like covers of "Poker Face"

And it shows. Their first 3 to 5 years were very well written and were full of kid humor. Since then they've gotten far too political and downright rude on their type of humor and jokes. They can't go a single episode without seriously slamming and making fun of a public person. But they "get away" with it because it's a cartoon. If David Letterman would tell those same jokes, he'd be fired in a day.
