After much deliberation, Geno DM is the winner.. Vibrant colours and great control of noise for a 1000 ISO image.. Also extremely sharp from edge to edge, corner to corner..

Great pick......Congratulations Geno...I couldn't agree more..Love the framing too

Congratulations to the winner. Great choice, Jurgen. Oh, wait... :)

Thanks so much! Honestly, I never expected to win, there were so many excellent photos. There are six or seven I thought would win over mine.

A bit of explanation for you guys - the sheen is sugar water that is sprayed over the mehndi to help it set. This bride (can you guess which one's her?) had her feet and hands bandaged shortly after this shot for the night to protect it and help to darken the tattoo.

I'll have a new challenge up shortly. It's been a good day! :)

BTW, did any of you notice that if you scroll John's shot up and down quickly, it actually looks like the fingers are playing that piano?

We have a very large Indian community here. Actually, we are quite diverse. Richmond (another suburb of Vancouver) is dominated by the Asian Community. We also have other large cultural areas with Italians, Greek, Middle Eastern, Dutch, etc. You should come visit some time!

Sounds like my home city in Australia (Wollongong).. Very diverse with some exceptional resturants.. Italian, Greek, Lebonese, Asian etc.. Take your pick..

Are your referring to my submission? ???
If so, well it was a notebook computer, however those same hands do play a piano very well :)
