Whenever somebody embeds a smugmug image link into a potn thread, it loads very sluggishly, and sometimes stalls altogether. In fact, as I'm writing this, this thread has been loading for about 5 minutes and has apparently stalled.

I'm on an 8 meg connection, don't have a problem with anything else. Is there anything I can do to resolve this problem?

It loads very quickly for me, so I guess the problem is either temporary, or is a blockage in the internet between you and smugmug.

Try using either tracert (cmd command) or downloading a ping plotter to see where the blockage is. Another possibility is a corporate firewall that may be throttling down certain sites to discourage users from visiting those sites.

Yeah, it must be your end, I'm on a 56k dial up connection and the page and pictures are loading pretty quickly for me too (it took less than 3 minutes to load everything which, for dial up, is pretty quick).

I didn't time it accurately, but the thread loaded for me in about four seconds...

Thanks, guys. Appreciate you taking the time to test. Obviously on my end. I just went up and clicked the link in my own OP and it still hangs. Fuel gauge shows page loads approx. 98%, but then permanently hangs when trying to load kirkt.smugmug.com. I'll look into it.
