Saw this online the other day. Chat with one of the sports photographer's from the Philadelphia newspapers about the World Series and more. Very interesting.

Wow really. Just Google this "mark III focus problems" and you will have endless pages to read.

That was a really good read. It's nice reading things like this every once in a while.

I havent been in the SLR game for but about a year and a half.
I was under the impression that the mk 3 was the top of the "High ISO/Fast AF" game. Wow, I guess I was wrong.
Thanks for the enlightenment.

That really takes the glam out of it for me--Sitting in one spot hammering on a camera that frustrates you, and you don't own the images. :( At least you don't have to pay for the cam when some fan dumps a beer on it.

Looking for a carbon tripod and head capable of supporting a 5D body and 35 mm L

Great article. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, that was rather a shock to me as well. . .not that I have any aspirations of ever owning a MK III anyway. I'd love to have an extra $7k for a 400mm f/2.8, though.

Although Canon claims all the problems were fixed there are many who still think the camera has focus issues, as highlighted by extensive testing by Rob Galbraith. This includes many pro sports shooters who have experienced exactly what he reported.

On the other hand, many owners love the Mk III and report no focus issues.
