My camera did not come with the software disc and now I need it to include with a sale. Is there any way to get this online?

Select your operating system and you can download the software that should have been on that cd

Ok, so the "Firmware update" download is actually the software? Everything else says "Instruction manual" and I have that disc.

The firmware is not what you want -- you want the actual software utilities. The problem, though, is that the disk that came with the camera has an "original install" that registers the software on your computer, whereas on the Canon website you get an "update" like this for the 50D:

http://www.usa.canon.com …egoryid=314&modelid=17499 (external link)

If you want to package a CD with your camera you'd probably have to buy one from Canon directly (or someone online).

+1.

You have to buy the Cds from Canon. You can only download the updates to firmware and users manual.

There are ways to get around it. A google search will find them.

They are full versions of the software on the Canon site. You have to select your OS before they show.

I kept an original executable for PC users and put it on my website. I don't have a Mac version. Sorry.

I do: Mac version (zipped)

Then again, if you follow the link on post #7, you won't need it. ;)

So, from what the OP is asking about, that is, a disk to include with a sale, it looks like CDIPhoto and René have together provided a solution, that is, original installs!

For a DIY solution, you can do the "register then update" installation.

Thanks everyone! I have sold the camera, and now I feel much better knowing the buyer can get the software online. I'll point them toward this thread.

The updated versions of DPP that are available from Canon's web site are full versions of the application, but they look for an existing version on the hard drive (or for a CD in your CD-ROM drive) before installing. They're designed to behave as an upgrade, even though they're complete versions.

There are apparently workarounds described online that would enable one to install the downloaded version without a prior install or CD in place.

sorry to "thread-jack", But i had this problem of buying a used 20D and not getting this software, so I downloaded from CDIFOTO's link in post #9.

BUT.... when I open DPP it will not allow me to see/edit/or anything the RAW files, only the JPG's, am i doing something wrong? The RAW's are listed, but only show a big grey X....

plus i can't seem to dowload any updates from canon's website either ???
