I was out taking a walk in the Boston Public Garden (with my 300mm 2.8L IS of course) and I happened to see this bird...not common in this park or city. There were actually two of them and they were just hanging around. They're quite magnificent and a lot of people were freaked out and afraid of them because they wouldn't move when you got close to them. Let me know if they are actually red tailed hawks or not... =]

Beautiful shots of Red Tail Hawks. Sometimes they get crazy like this and ignore people. Take advantage of it. :)

The only time you have to be afraid of them is when you have a mouse in your pocket.

Thanks a lot man!

It was a strange sight, but awesome. I love how afraid people were of them.

wonderful shots, he looks like a juvie which would explain why you were able to approach. I got lucky like that once, pretty thrilling wasn't it?

Thanks. I was there for two hours and they really didn't move that much.

I had no idea if it was a red tailed hawk or something else. Haha. I was quite aware that I was in Boston.
