Being the Canon loyalist I am, always wanted to buy the 17-55 but ended up buying this lens recently due to a shortage of funs. C&C welcome...

And some more but this time the cropped ones. Do you think either myself or my cheap tripod let me down ;)

Drvrd, very nice! I can see you are loving your new lens. You are treating each other right.

Nik, nice landscapes, especially the last one. I'm looking on my laptop screen, which tends to wash things out a bit. On this screen, it looks like a couple could use a bit more contrast to help bring out a bit of "punch"--but then could just be my screen.

Matt, that's at the Ford museum? great pic, and sweet choice of angle--car pictures tend to be rather dull and interchangeable. I like the detail in the ceiling:)

All taken on my first night shoot; on a tripod with VC off.

After reading 30 pages, I took my 50D to my local store, they had one in stock, took some shots, went home to look at results on screen, not impressed, nothing really sharp F2.8 through to F4. Went back in yesterday had a chat, he put the lens on a 60D and it was brilliant, just like you guys seem to have. So thinking I must have made some bad shots, I bought the lens, took it home did the 3 batterie test, back focus at 2.8, adjusted it out (it took to 15) tried it at F4 front focus WTF!
I am going to ask the store to get me another, if the problem persists then it must be my 50D (which works fine with Canon primes?) trouble is I only have 8 days of Warranty left on the camera, and I need it for a wedding this weekend, so cutting things fine.
Photo's aren't that good at F5.6 also, so I hope a swap out fixes it for me as this is a great lens if only I can get it to work properly.

The one I bought was sharp on a 60D in store, but not on my 50D! I know all lens and cameras have a tolerance, the 60D and lens must have a 'Y' tolerance and my 50D is a 'X' tolerence so not compatable. As I said before my 85 and 50 both work fine without MF adjust, the only lens I have ever had to adjust slightly was my sigma 50-150 F2.8 which is fine now.

My problem is solved - I cleaned the contacts on the lens and camera, refitted the lens, re micro adjusted (now on +12) and bingo, 18 shots with flash that burn your eyes. Due to work I can't test daylight shots until Saturday, but this is turning out to be some lens. Don't know how to upload photos so can't show you how good this has turned out.
