Exactly, it is Field Of View only, the focal length is identical. In other words all it does is allow you see less and capture less of the scene in your frame, it doesn't make you any closer.

a venusian would say "more reach" :D.

suffice it to say that say that wildlife and sports shooters mostly prefer the crop factor.....now let's get back on subject :D.

anyone who would take a 1.6 crop over the 1d mark III is nutz :D.

You were on the moon? Voigtlander lenses are MF as well.

I only use autofocus on earth. On the moon, I prefer to focus manually. :)

Hi Rob, I'd personally love to have the 1dmIII however that would depend on the abuse these babies had. I'd only really buy one if the shutter had been replaced and it given a service from Canon. I've seen what happens to the newspaper guys that have them.

Now, I own the 7d and can tell you it is a very different camera to the 50D which I own as well. AF is a massive difference on the 7D compared to the 50D. AF locks on really quick and what I've seen so far stays locked until you decide to move on. FPS is alot more as well plus more MP.

The best way is to get your hands on the 50D, 7D and 1DMIII and see what suits you more. Next time I see you you can have a go of my 50D and 7D.

Well I've no asked a couple of mates what they'd be looking to sell their MkIII's for and it seems a lot more than I estimated. In fact if I was to pay that much I'd probably get a new one.

So the decision is more 50D or 7D

I'm leaning heavily to 7D at this stage but loving all the input and suggestions (as well as good humoured banter) .... feel free to keep giving me reasons either way.

Do you have grounds for that statement? I mean do you own the camera? According to your sig the answer is no, so how can you bash a camera that you do not even have?

Pretty typical for these forums.. These comments are best ignored..
