I am trying to get the HSS setup properly.
Read through the instructions and tried a variety of configurations.
The result is, no shutter curtain shadow at speeds above 1/200 on my 5D.
Shutter curtain shadow --same size-- on all test shots at or below 1/200.

As suggested in the PW instructions, camera set to 5D
shutter speed set to 1/400th and the offset was first tried at default -170, then moved it to -85 to see if that had an impact None visible.

What am I doing wrong?

My interest in these devices is the HSS capabilities. Without that working they are not very valuable to me.

Did you mean the other way around? That you get no dark bar at or below 1/200 but you are getting the bar above 1/200?

Only suggestion I can make, upgrade to the latest firmware? I did and I haven't had to do anything, stick it on and shoot. Tested up to 1/8000 and it just worked.

No, the shutter shadow is below the camera sink speed.
Above the camera sync speed there is not shadow up to at least 1/1000 of a second.
I have the latest firmware.

configuration is set as best I can figure out from the instructions updated for the latest version of firmware.

The irony is that things look great with HSS above the camera sync speed, its when it drops below that there is a problem.

With the flash on the camera without the PS TTs HSS works as it should.

There are so many factors and settings that it could be - it would take hours to list them all.

Post some sample images and a screenshot of the settings you have selected in the PW utility, and I'm sure this can be resolved fairly quickly.

I'll put up some test shots and the configuration in the morning.

Not sure if this is good or bad ---
When out to test the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 using HSS to confirm the shutter curtain shadow concern.

Everything worked as expected.

Grrrrr...

Maybe I'd try them tomorrow -- after I'm sure I have the shot I want without.
