I just upgraded from a 20D to a 50D and since I don't make much money with my photography I had to sell some stuff... I sold $450 of crap (like a number of bags of leftover post-hole cement for $1 each) at a yard sale but this takes the cake...

Yes, $391 for a used baseball bat that I paid $180 for about 5 years ago and used for a year before our league went to wood bats. Just call me the alchemist cause I just turned scrap metal into gold.

Having sold the bat for sooooo much I may just keep the 20D as a backup.

Because its been discontinued and their hard to find. I've found them cheaper on other auctions and a brand new one for less as well.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Wiped my savings clean to fund my 7D.. but selling my Xti and Sigma 70-300 for £350 helped :)

I'm pretty embarrassed that I spent so much on a camera, but should be getting quite a lot of photography work soon so I guess it's worth it!

Patricks right that it is discontinued and hard to find in decent shape. What I don't understand is where it can be used. It is not Little League approved and is not BESR compliant so it cannot be used in High School or College ball. Most adult leagues, if they haven't gone back to wood already only allow BESR certified aluminum.

Holy Nikon, Batman!

eBay is curious that way sometimes - people willing to pay >retail and who don't understand that it only matters who has the high bid at the end, not the middle.

And since you got rid of the bat, you won't use it to smash your new camera if you lose your temper. ;)

Thank you. bw!

nice to see some like minded peeps ;) I sold a guitar, my 40D, ef-s lenses, grip to fund my 7D and a siggy 10-20 to make up funds for the 15-85 kit :) should have it next week  Now I've been scanning the house for other items that could fund a 70-200 f4 is or if I strike gold somewhere a 2.8 is... even the dog seems to have realised whats happening and keeps hiding  managed to make quite a profit on the guitar, broke even on the 40D due to buying it from hk and selling it here (Portugal) where 2nd hand prices are much better than UK and a nice profit on the 10-20 too, due to buying in hk, selling here and the price increases lenses saw earlier this year :)

oRGie - I am an EOS and the 7D was my idea

Oh, still lots of bats around the house... they are just all wood now.
Doubt I will be getting upset with teh 50D, just did the MFA on two lenses yesterday and it looks like it is a really well behaved piece of technology.

If it wasn't the wrong season, I'd be holding a garage sale for camera funds, I'll just have to wait ;)
