Hey all, I was asked to shoot an orchestra type band for a school performance at my college and was wondering what you guys would recommend for pricing. I know i have plenty of the right equipment (Canon 40d, 24-70mm f2.8L, 70-200mm f2.8L, 11-16mm f2.8, a few 580s and umbrellas, etc.) but they asked me for pricing and i am not sure what would be fair. I want to work with them, and knowing how the budget cuts are im worried about pricing too high.

They want a group shot that they can use for promotional purposes, as well as possibly group break outs. They at least want the group shot, and want to know the prices for the others as well. They dont want prints, just the digital files. It will also be done on a Sunday during Christmas time where i will have to ask off time from my day job in retail, so i let them know that i will need extra compensation for that.

I know i have the skill for available light, and will work on learning off camera flash, but i just need help pricing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

$250 sounds like a good deal to me.

They might get a someone else with a camera to shoot it for less than that, but the certainly wouldn't get a studio to do it for less.

Thanks guys. I offered between 200-300 for it, depending on how many pictures they want. I appreciate the help!
