Chris, i don't want to through a spanner in the works or anything, but i have never had a problem with mine and other people seam to be o.k as well. Your one your 3rd one now, is there any possibility that the issue could astually be with the adapter ring and not the holder itself?

More like opperator error! ;)

Or perhaps the interface between the camera and the bag?

Looks good to me. I have one of those lightstands and don't like it as much as the manfrottos, but that's probably just personal taste. It doesn't pack down quite as small as the manfrottos and it's a bit heavier though.

A bit of both probably :D, but as my picture here explains, it's just made wrong in my opinion. It's definitely the holder as it's the same on my other adaptor ring. It's too easy to take off.

Thanks, am about to order now. Don't mind the weight or size so much as it wont be moved about much.

although I suppose it's designed to come off in an accident, rather than damage the lens/adapter?

I haven't had mine fall off .. yet.. not even when the filters dug into the sand at Donna Nook when I was ducking from a sand storm!

Both times I have caught the brass thingy on the bridge and it's pulled off, perhaps I should learn to keep the brass thingy on top of the lens so to not catch it.
