Guys,
I seem to remember someone (possibly Neil) getting contacted by Schmap through FlickR for having an image shortlisted for their London guide.

Anyone else had this or had any concerns/benefits about them using an image in their guide?

FYI it's one from Richmond Park the other week.

I think the only concern was that they'd be making money from the guides while not paying you for your photograph.

I could have sworn that the advice you gave last time Rich was to tell them to get stuffed!

I personally think that by allowing companis to use images for free it devalues the market over all. It may already be too late for that however

Anyone know anything about video cameras? My sister in law wants one for christmas and I have been tasked by my mother in law with finding out what's hot and what's not! Not sure the budget - prob about 300-400 quid.

that was my thoughts, I was sondering if anyone had seen any benefits (increased profile/leads for work).
As it stands my answer will be no. I can see no-one saying that xxx have called about a picture they saw in schmap and want to buy/comission more etc.

I've been wondering about some ideas for photographing on the underground, this thread is very inspiring;

A nice deal here. I'd be all over it (and sell my 1D Mk II N) if I had a spare grand.

I think we spoke about shooting the underground earlier in the year, maybe we should get onto it early next year before it turns into an underground over as spring kicks in .. Say jan/feb time?!

Are the permits something you can obtain on our behalf Rich?

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, me and Adrian were looking at it, but were probably a bit late in getting the passes

What do you think of it ? Or have you not had much of a chance to use it yet?

Ive been fiddling round with it and getting a few shots in, and i have to say it is rather easy to use. I know i have to sort out focusing and stuff properly, but i will get there eventually. Its also a lot lighter than i thought it would be (compared to Warrens 20D i borrowed and Neals 40D)

I've been wanting to visit there for a long time. Looks to be an interesting place.

Yeah i cant believe Neal has never been there. Its only bout 10 mins from my old school and only bout 15 mins from my house :)

Very cool! Looks good up there :) Don't they usually just layer those things? Maybe your banner is just under the current one? I'm sure some vandal could come along and peel back a layer for you so you could see the banner in all its glory ;)
...

Thanks, all. That's a great idea, Kevin, I will go and have a look and do some sly vandalism ;) Heh heh heh :)
