My poor car...I went to salvage all my stuff from my car this morning and had a closer look at the damage. What I hadn't seen before was the bodywork around the spare wheel. A lot more crumpled than I had imagined and I can see now why they have written it off. :(

On the positive side, my Dad has offered to sell me his car for whatever write-off settlement I get - it's an Audi A6 Y reg and worth a lot more than my car! So that's good I guess.

Here's one side of the boot damage:

Looks bad, Mike. I can understand why they'd call that one a loss. May well have a bent/weakened chassis from that impact.

The diesel. I've driven it quite a bit before and it's quite a nice ride and does a goood amount to the gallon.
