Great! Wife now stranded about 10 miles out of town, taxi dropped her off at a hotel which had no room spare so she's got to walk home. Decidedly pee'd off as you can imagine.
Any ideas?

Driving in fresh snow is not too bad if you take it easy, it only gets lethal when it has melted and then refrozen to ice or it it gets too compacted and gets icy....do you only have your volvo??

Holy macaroni!! The whole world just turned white out there. It's dumping it down.
Good photography day tomorrow :)

I am on a course which is incredibly boring and if I miss the last day I don't want to have to do the whole week again, but I really would rather just take the day off

My drive is about a 35 degree slope, it probably ain't going to happen. She said there are abandoned cars on the roads. Crikey, one flake of EXPECTED snow and this country grinds to a halt.

Hotel or any friends nearby...or as a last resort the hotel lounge where she got dropped off unless you know someone with a 4x4 or snowchains

The train station should lay on some form of transport, be it bus or train. I'll walk and meet her at the station when she gets there.
Thank goodness I never went to work! I'd be sleeping in my car on the M25!

She must be, she told me it was 15 miles at one point :D Must seem rather daunting in a blizzard though.

My wife isn't too good with distances either...

But when she gets home, just tell her it was closer to 20 miles and you would have walked that far to go get her.... :D

She did well. Hope she's wrapped up well.

I'm not sure about my journey to work tomorrow- I have brought some work with me just in case.

Definitely a good call, at least you know she is with other people while they wait for transport to be arranged
