Bums. Are they fixing it though?

What is it with traffic recently, TW has been at gridlock for the past three days, taking hours to get anywhere/

It got fixed up last week, this is the re-test for the MOT.

I left it there and they'll call me when it's passed the MOT and I'll go down and collect it (if the traffic has died down by then).

I've never seen traffic as bad as this here before.

Here's hoping.

People seem to lose the ability to drive in this weather. They should just not bother in all honesty.
I had to laugh today at some woman in a 5-Series with snow chains on, going down the main road which was snow and ice free. The thing was bumping and juddering all over the shop. :D

Especially mad recently since no-one knows how to drive on ice.

Yes, like drink everything you do needs care & moderation and more importantly "reading the road" something that IMO is never taught well enough!

Also how many get shown proper skid control ~ methinks especially those with ABS brakes take it for granted they will stop OK (oh yeh!) and those without ABS I think 99.9% of them would not know "cadence braking" from the foxtrot

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Gah. I had my car booked into the local garage at 3:40 this afternoon, so I left here at 3:30 (it's only half a mile away). It's snowing here and normally sleepy Wokingham is at a complete gridlock. I managed to get there shortly after 5pm.

I just had to walk back home.

I'm not pleased.

Thats sucks dude.

And if she has an accident on such a clear road I bet her insurance will disown her! Snow chains!!!! If she knew how to use them properly she would never have put them on based on what you say about the conditions???

Edit - Not forgetting possible damage to the tyres & suspension parts!

Fair enough we have plenty of ice covered back roads, most of which are hilly, but surely you're supposed to take them off once you're out of the snow?

I sometimes wonder if people can drive at all with some of the stupid things I see them do on the roads.

As I have always understood it "snow chains" are for (deep) snow not sheer ice, a 'chained' car is as likely to skid on ice as one without chains & more importantly whether ABS or not skiding on chains will be worse than on tyres because of the lack of even some braking effect.

I think is you go to the Nordic countries you will see more studded ice tyres than chains in use i.e. product for the task required. But chains are cheaper than a set of studded tyres?

She did look rather daft, and the car was bumping and jarring like mad at under 5mph in the queue, I can't imagine what it was like at 30mph+
