Well the battery type is the NB-2LH but sadly as far as I can tell the 500D takes an LP-E5 so no go on that front ~ though even if 'right' I was hoping that it might be worth more than £200 ??? As I only ever buy Canon batteries :D

its just that my dad is looking for a canon dslr for under £200 coz he is a stingy bum, tbh i think he needs to up his budget

Ah! penny drops ~ you would be charging his batteries if this was compatible ;)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Thanks for the guide & pointer ~ I will have gander at what LCE are offering for that price as a comparison?

Edit - right had a look and does look like I should expect to get closer to the £300 mark???

I bought a third party charger for my 40D (left the original in Africa, not on purpose!) it cost less than £20 and even has a car charger socket too - works fine! (bought from amazon)

Hmmm!! can you check the make for me because if they do one for the 350D battery then that could make all the difference to making a suitable sale.

Incidently FWIW the reason for the sale was I kept the 350D as a backup but have (touch wood) never needed since getting the 40D so some funds to aid the justification for new glass or a 7D in time is the aim :D

This is the one I bought (cheaper now too! typical!!)

http://www.amazon.co.uk …7WS8/ref=ox_ya_oh_product (external link)

there are others for different models if you scroll down the page..

I refused to pay loads for the original Canon one, especially as I'm considering the IR conversion (*crosses fingers*)

Yep, spotted that one but was looking for user by brand feedback and your Invo8 brand seems to get good crits. Amazon do have that make for the NB-2L i.e. not the 2LH at £15.70 which I think is still good value compared to the Canon OEM but would it be AOK for the 2LH version of the battery???

fair comment - I am a tart and don't use Canon batteries exclusively - so it works fine on the 3rd party battery I have for the 40D... but I appreciate you not wanting to take a chance on an unrated product - I haven't looked for the Inov8 website - they do a whole bunch of battery flavoured products so they must cover that type!?

I think that system slots into this - to create a universal platform!?
