Yeah, I'm happy to take it unpaid. It makes the whole process pretty pointless if the person providing the sperm is not there!

Me too.

My boss is an idiot! I told him that I need a couple of days off next week for an unavoidable hospital appointment (don't worry, I'm not dying ;) we're going through IVF) and he said that he "can really allow any time off at the moment". I'm not sure my wife would appreciate that sentiment!

*Pendant* doesn't that mean you can get time off ;) */Pendant*

Can your boss refuse holidays?? I know my sister has problems getting holidays without months notice but shes an accountant and therefore has bookings planned out months in advance....

If you can you should ask the hospital for something saying this is the only app availibile for ages.
Do you still work in the courts? You should hunt out a child and family lawer and throw the question at them.

[pedant] Does that mean you hang around people's necks? [/pedant] :p

That was copied directly from his email but I knoow he meant to put a 't in there.

We're supposed to give 6 weeks notice for leave (which is a joke) but when you have a hospital appointment you can't do that. I still don't know the dates, all I knoow is that it is next week. A scan on Friday will help confirm the exact date.

When we had IVF there was a 6 month waiting list for appointments. We were lucky in that they had a cancelation and happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Worked first time as well :)

Well, the appointment can't be given as an exact date - Sally's on injections that stimulate the ovaries and then more drugs are given from Friday onwards to prevent the ovulation hppening until the doctor can remove the eggs. As we're paying for private treatment (that's nearly equivalent to 2 x 1Ds Mk 3s) we're pretty commited to the time and date that we get given.

Excellent. This is our second go at it. Jumped the queue due to having to go private. Don't get me started on the age limit for NHS funding argument! ;)

Ouch. Hope things go smoothly (naturally) for me and Mrs. B. Although, we've been trying for over a year now.

Best of luck hope it works for you this time.

@Warren - David keeps tring to get me to buy Phottix Cleon, they seem pretty good. They can act as wireless trigger and wired trigger

Indeed, I've just got their Cleon 2 and it has several improvements over the original:

http://www.phottix.net …fault.asp?product_id=1113 (external link)

I'm not sure how the bulb feature works on the wired remote, but I would imagine you press the shutter button on the remote and then slide the 'On/Hold' switch to hold .... something like that ... I will post later how it actually works .... if I remember ;)

What's handy is that the wired remote doesn't require the unit to be switched on, so you don't use up any battery power. You only need the unit switched on if you're using the wireless remote ... which has a flipping long range by the way!!

David :)
