Bin it, then buy a new one, that way the formatted one will no longer be a problem! :lol:

On a serious note tho, can you not download any software to help you out?

Well I built a computer for my uncle for him to surf web (well it used to be the home computer, but I gave the house my uni one and that computer to my uncle)..

anyhow long story short it seems I didn't transfer all the files to my computer so my sister is now in tears as shes missing her photos. I only did a quick format on the other HDD so I should be able to recover it I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommended software for the task.

I don't know if the free version will actually get your files back, you may have to buy the software (or find cheaper elsewhere). Bear in mind that I found that after a very quick Google for "unformat", there might be cheaper/better programs out there.

thanks, i'm reading reviews on various programs. I don't mind spending the money if it stops my sister crying....

I have such a weak spot for my sisters......god knows whats gonna happen when i get a girlfriend and later a wife :p
