Doubtful. Data recovery will only work properly if you've not used the drive after you accidentally deleted the files.

I'm struggling to find any that:-

a) I'm allowed to sell
b) That are good enough technically when upsized (quite a few of my shots have been cropped by quite a margin)

Pete
I am going to try Chris' approach and take lots of pictures of the area I live ( Bomley ). Remember they are not looking for the wow images. The images Chris has sold that I have recently are a high street picture, sign of welcome to Royal Tonbridge Wells.

There are some on POTN who say they make more from the micro stock libraries like shutterstock... I have uploaded some pics with them, a lot easier than alamy but you have to go for the machine gun approach and upload loads ( I have only managed 32 approved and about 4 rejects ). They imo want the more eyecatching one as it is more of Jo Bloggs trawling through and downloading the images. So far made only £10 in 2 months but I think if you can upload loads ( around a 1000 ) you get a reasonable return or that is at least what others say. This one is a lot less hassle than alamy as minimum size is 3 mb so hassle upsizing etc.

The main reason I am perservering is I am determined my camera gear should pay for itself and of course buy more equipment;) That is the master plan!!

After discovering what I didn't know about property releases earlier then it limits what can sell for advertising somewhat, which I assume is where the money is to be made rather than editorial. Though beyond newspapers and magazines I'm not all that sure what editorial covers.

I regularly go to National Trust properties. From reading up, I know that I'm not allowed to take photos on NT grouns for commercial use. Therefore I can't submit any of those shots to Alamy.

Well I built a computer for my uncle for him to surf web (well it used to be the home computer, but I gave the house my uni one and that computer to my uncle)..

anyhow long story short it seems I didn't transfer all the files to my computer so my sister is now in tears as shes missing her photos. I only did a quick format on the other HDD so I should be able to recover it I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommended software for the task.

yup data recovery

I used this once and it worked.
