Starting to save for a gift for my wife but more then confused on what would be a nice addition to her current quiver of equipment. She mostly takes porterate and landscape she is still new and learning but I think she is doing an amazing job with her pictures.

Current equipment:
- Canon XSi
- 18-55 Kit lens
- 55-250 canon lens
- 50 1.8 canon
- Close-up filters for the 50
- two camera bags
- Photoshop elements 8

She seems to like the 50 lens allot, it is what she seems to use most of the time. She has talked about a 30 or 35 lens, an tameron 28 something (I get lost in the jargon)

My ideas are; and budget under 500.00:
- tri-pod
- flash maybe 430
- 30mm sigma len (that might be out of my budget)
- Someone to give her one on one tips and tricks on composition and that stuff. (not sure where you would find that in Toronto)

Thank you for any advice and suggestions

nice tripod would be a great addition for both landscapes and portrait work. If she doesn't have a flash yet, one of those plus a stand and umbrella would also be a great addtion for portrait and off-camera flash work.

Thank you, to a person not in the know what brand or type would I want to narrow my search to. I been in the camera store and allways feel that i'm getting the hard sell or that the person selling know less then I do.

"an tameron 28 something (I get lost in the jargon)"

I think you mean the Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR ZL Di LD , which is a well regarded f/2.8 medium range zoom.

If she's in to landscapes then a sigma 10-20mm might be nice.
