Did any of you take a pix in this NBC Sports slideshow?

I'm just curious.... There are some VERY good shots in this slide show posted on MSNBC (their weekly slide show series - they have one for news, sports, etc.). Then again, there are some VERY good shots posted on POTN.

That got me thinking of whether any of our members have been featured in the slide show. The images are from AP and Getty (most of them anyway).

Take a look at image 8 of the soccer shot "the one that got away". That image is the best soccer images I ever saw on the internet. I love that picture. If I ever had a shot like that, it would be purely an accident.

If in some small world chance you took that shot and you are reading this, that is an awesome picture.

Those are nice shots. From what I have seen posted here by POTN sports shooters many of them can easily produce shots like those, if they have access to the event.

so many of those shots were perfect timing (like the goal shot) and/or complete peak action. I think this is what sets them apart. Also, many were of athletes with wide recognition. This also makes them a 'cut above' the mere technical aspect of the shot.

WOW!

I agree about that shot, incredible. To be fair, it was partly accidental that the photog got that shot. It takes some great preparation and timing to put yourself into that position to get that shot, and then the pieces need to fall into place perfectly like they did.

What an incredible capture. I hope I'm able to capture something even a fraction as good some day.

Eddie was one of the first guys to use a remote camera in the Premiership. He's been doing it for years. We're all used to setting up the cameras behind the goals, but it's very rare that a) you get the shot so well composed (though a 16-35 or 14mm will help) and b) anyone wants to use it!

Sorry to disillusion anyone who thought he was sat there!!! He'd have been off to the side of the goal with a pocketwizard set up on his 70-200 triggering a remote camera.

Good shot though, lucky too.

If I see Eddie at a game soon, I'll pass on the praise!! He'll be chuffed to bits.

I had no illusions that he was sitting there, which makes it all the more impressive (and lucky to get the stars to align like that!)!

Trying to remember what Eddie uses, I think it's a 14mm mkI which means he can get all of the goal. Set with the focus on the goal-line (i do the same). Then you can crop to suit!

TV cameras have meant that we're often limited on where we can place remotes, hence the reason it's off to the side like that!

That's why you set up remotes - 99% of it may be garbage but that 1% makes it soooooo worthwhile!

Exactly... even better when it's newsworthy...

I recall seeing that shot here in a newspaper in Australia too, so VERY newsworthy~ I wonder how many papers ran it!
