I have not gone anywhere with only one lens in about 15 years. I am off to NYC with the wife for the weekend and have decided to take only one body and one lens. No bag, no flash, no nothing. I think it will be fun to be so limited for a change. Have no idea how it will turn out, but that is kinda the point.

I thought about it and still might bright a flash. But I kinda want to do it as minimal as I can.

Is this a way to get a new lens?

You go to NYC with only the 50.
Then you tell your wife that it's not working out so well and therefore you need to make a trip to BH PhotoVideo.

Aha!
:)

I often do this on my vacations...the 50 is light to travel with and you can do alot with it. I commend you for being so minimalistic!

Im a bit dissapointed in the trip, I go with no camera or the pocket camera, and I see a ton of stuff to shoot. This time I go with a decent camera and see almost nothing worth lifting up the camera for. Oh well it was a great trip anyway.

B&H was on the list, but not for a lens. I went to look at some more lighting equipment I will order now I am back home. (no tax to pay) That said, I did break the news I will get the 70-200 2.8 to her while there.
