Hello,
Many people on here buy and sell camera gear quite regularly and expensive gear at that. How many use their camera equipment as a hobby or do many/most of you use it to make money? Do many of you sell your photos as a sideline to help defray the cost of your equipment?
While I have had many compliments about my images I have never sold nor tried to sell any of them. It crossed my mind that perhaps many on here do use their photography as a sideline business as opposed to a full-time business so was curious about it. Thank you.

Kindest regards,

Tim

I haven't made any money on photography yet- I've assisted weddings (no pay) and have not really tried too hard to do it as a business. I've been meaning to get some business cards made but that's been a couple months now... lol

Don't feel bad about spending money- it's a great creative hobby! Think of all those people that are into modding cars/bikes to go fast down the 1/4 mile dragstrip. They spend wayyyyy more then the average photo hobbyist with a bag of lenses! There are many more hobbies out there that cost more money then photography. Don't let other's tell you that you should be making money just because you have a "big camera".. unless YOU want to make money (which is good for buying lenses!) :p

I am just starting to make money on my pictures. Have not made enough to buy a whole camera yet, but a few small accesories. Which is fine by me.
