Hobbyist or Professional

Hello,
Many people on here buy and sell camera gear quite regularly and expensive gear at that. How many use their camera equipment as a hobby or do many/most of you use it to make money? Do many of you sell your photos as a sideline to help defray the cost of your equipment?
While I have had many compliments about my images I have never sold nor tried to sell any of them. It crossed my mind that perhaps many on here do use their photography as a sideline business as opposed to a full-time business so was curious about it. Thank you.

I haven't done much selling of gear, mostly buying - and some would qualify for many people's definition of expensive. That said, its purely hobby for me and it is my preference to keep it that way. This hobby is a way for me to relax and have fun, not worry about making money or pleasing clients. It also allows me to exercise my creative side - not something I get to do too much in my day job. Hopefully down the road if I decide to (or need to) start making some money with this, I'll have enough experience that I'll feel comfortable doing that.
