I've been practicing my processing of Raw photos in DPP. I went to the Galapagos Islands in April 2009 and shot Raw (and JPEG) for the first time but didn't really process any Raw at the time. C&C is welcome.

I hope no one minds the birds on here rather than in the dedicated forum. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. I highly recommend a trip to the islands. If you do go make sure your trip/cruise includes Genovesa, Espanola and Fernandina Islands.

Good shots considering the available light which looked a bit difficult to deal with.

How did you find the tour experience? I have been considering GI for a few years now.

The tour experience was good. I did a fair amount of research to figure out which islands I wanted to visit based on wildlife and photo opportunities. Barry Boyce's guidebook to the Galapagos is a good starting point because he details each landing site and the photo opportunities there. Once I knew I wanted a cruise that included Genovesa (to see red-footed boobies), Espanola (for the waved albatross) and the western islands of Isabela and Fernandina (penguins, flightless cormorants) that narrowed my choices of boats down. I then looked for a certain amount of luxury but on one of the smaller boats. I wound up going with Quasar Expeditions and by coincidence my sailing was a photography tour.

All the shots are great, but I like the crab one the most. The colors are so vibrant on it.
