black and white in bridge, color in the folder....

Hello, this is really starting to upset me, I am trying to get black and whites of the same things that i have colors of, I convert all of the pictures to JPEG after I am done editing, then I copy and paste them into a new folder, go back into camera raw click convert to grayscale, they all change to BW, but when i try to open them anywhere else they are still color. So I tried to go back to camera raw unclick the convert to grayscale button then just take out all of the saturation and the same thing is happening...HELP PLLLLLLLEASE, I am using CS4.

You need to do a "save as" for other programs to recognize. When you convert in ACR the settings are saved in a .xmp file and other programs don't recognize it.

Open the CR2 in ACR. Then convert to grayscale, then save as either psd, tif or jpg.

Other software (Canons DPP for instance) won't be able to "read" the changes made in ACR. So you really need to convert the raw file.
