I've decided to pull the trigger on a Cokin holder and 77mm ring. Until just recently, I didn't even realize that Cokin made a Wide Holder. Will the P Wide Holder work well on the 10-22, or do I have to pony up $$ for a Z system as some have recommended in a previous thread? I'd like to get away with only 1 rig, and whatever I get will be used on the 24-105L and the 70-200 2.8 as well.

If you only ever plan on using a single filter, the P Wide is a good option. If you want to use more, which IMO is going to happen at some stage (I used up to three filters occasionaly on the 10-22 when I still had it), you need a much larger holder for the 10-22, which means a Z-Pro.

10 cm X 10 cm or 10 cm X 15 cm filters aren't cheap, but many firms manufacture these, and they are interchangeable as well (Lee, etc.), so you're not limited to Cokin only.

Kind regards, Wim

Sorry guys, I reviewed a previous thread and see that "dustyporch" answered my question. Cokin P Wide holder it is. Thanks.

Thanks Wim! Now I'm up in the air all over again. I hadn't been thinking about multiple filters.

I found vignetting with one filter one a Z still occurred. I like vignetting so not an issue for me.

P-wide will indeed work on the 10-22. If you can give up multiple filters then it's fine. Mine has been rendered useless (both the P-wide, and the regular P) now that I'm on full frame - wicked crazy vignetting. I guess what I'm getting at is my whole GND filter setup is useless to me now, and I have to re-buy. If I had of been thinking long term I would have went with the Z.

I can't understand that result, Rankinia, unless it was the uneven polarisation of the sky. A single P-size in the wideangle holder (i.e. single slot) doesn't vignette on the 10-22 at 10mm in my experience. Z is bigger still, so shouldn't be a problem.

Good info Dorman. Realistically, I'm a long way from FF at this point, having blown my toy budget on lenses this year. If you still have your P and P-wide stuff, I'm looking. ;)
