Here are a few examples of our Football team. This was my first time using my 40D and my 55-250.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

I think all of these with the exception of 3 would be better if they were shot in portrait orientation. Just a personal preference thing. Good shots though.

I never tried to shoot in Portrait for Football. I wonder if I would of still get the shutter speed of 1/800 - 1/1000

Good action.

I agree 1 & 4 s/b portraits. Looks as if 3 is a TD just past goalline, so either is fine.

Did you add the vignette? or is that a wicked shadow?

Also did you notice that the Blues are not the same colors throughout the series, most off #3.

nice set.

How would shooting in portrait affect your shutter speed?

I was simply talking about the crop.

I think that was Locky's quote, Vinny. I know what you were talking about.

#1 has me looking over and over at it.. I know it's two different players but it looks a little weird... maybe it's the halo/shadow.. or the fact that the guy with the ball is going to run over his teammate?

Ok, First time I read it I missed the orientation part. I thought you were wanting me to shoot in the portrait mode lol, thats why i asked about the shutter speed. Actually most of my shots were done in portrait orientation. Just by coincedence these 4 were in landscape. And because the lack of bokeh I added vignetting to try and draw the eye more towards the center.

DHMN, I feel the same way. It almost looks like I PSed the other player in there.

Are you making the big road trip? I can't believe they are having you guys drive 10 hours for the Quarters! I can see maybe Indian River or St. Igance...Good Luck!! The Superior Dome is not the best for lighting.

Nice shots!

Andy

And at least seven of those 10 hours will be on low and slow fifty-five miles per hour two lane roads. But hey - I made a similar trip many years ago in my hay day - only in the reverse.

We are leading our region in points and we are the home team. It is actually the same distance for Iron Mountain to come here as it is for us to go to the Superior Dome. MHSAA idea of mutual field is a joke for this one but it's not the first time they did this to us. Im not sure why they don't have us play in Gaylord like last year and that was only a 4 hour drive. I checked the forecast for Gaylord and it is suppose to be 56 and cloudy. Sounds like perfect weather if you ask me so MHSAA can't say they did it because of weather. I have been ticked all morning over this. It will actually cost me about $500 to go watch my Wildcats play. My praise band which consists of one of the players and his parents are suppose to play next Sunday also. So that has changed things.
