The last time I shot at this part of the park, it was around the same time of year, I had the same sort of light, but I was shooting with a D70 and 17-55 f/2.8 AF-S lens... my how times change! Hope you all enjoy.

Great stuff. I love the Eno - we lived a stones throw from the park for a few years in the late '90s. We were there for the last big (BIG) emergence of cicadas. Beautiful place.

I live much closer to Jordan Lake (southern Durham), so I don't get out to the Eno enough. I enjoy the park a lot when I can get to it.

Nice fall colors you captured Markitos. The one that really stands out for me is #4. The long exposure just jumps out at me! :)

Thanks! The light is so good in that spot, and the colors so vibrant, that it's actually pretty difficult to find compositions that aren't too busy/blinding. This set is better than the one I shot a few years ago, but I still think there's a lot of room for refinement.

Love that second shot. What a great reflection. I wish fall lasted all year long.

Great shots. I see you made it out to the river finally. :D I like the long expo with the leaves the best.

What access did you use to the river?

I went to the access off of Cole Mill near Umstead Rd... it's the closest to where I work and the only one I could get to quickly enough to get photos. The light there is sublime from about 3:30 on, in different places. I just walk down to the canoe access, turn right and walk along the river.

You were right where we used to hike after work (I worked at Duke '97-'00). What a beautiful, tranquil place.
