Also got a hold of a used Kodak 8800 printer. But it is more a kiosk style printer and not a stand alone.
Not sure what to do with it?
What do I need to get it working?

Here at work we have three different dye sub printers.

First off, we have the ML 500... my boss had said that it is discontinued which is true, and we only have one more set of ribbons and paper for it - are you still able to get product for it?? It's a great printer - if we had calibrated monitors it'd be even better. I cant control that issue though... I've pushed it, and we're about to get new monitors so I'll push that issue again.

The printers that get the most use are our Sony UP-GR700 and UP-CX1. I really like the promatte option on the R710 - it's quite nice. Again, calibration is a huge factor and I know I'd like the printer more if I could match what I see on screen. I've spent hours with the software and cant get it.

There are a lot of suppliers out there.

Just another bump as I too am having a difficult time locating a renting option for an 8x10 dye sub printer. If there are any forum members here in the Philadelphia or New Jersey area that have an 8x10 dye sub that they would be interested in renting out for a weekend in mid-December, please feel free to contact me by PM or email .... info at techvantics dot com.

Thanks.
