I did some freelance work up in Cedar Falls, Iowa this weekend. I got hired to shoot the University of Northern Iowa vs University of North Carolina Pembrook Mens Basketball game, but then was asked to shoot the UNI vs Youngstown State Football game. Here are a few until I get the Full res ones up on my site.

These look great Dave! Looks like a domed stadium. How did you like that lighting?

eh.... lol... it was a dome.. its was barely useable for college football... 1/500th 1600 2.8 for the majority.. I could squeeze 1/640th at midfield but the endzones I was at 1/400th- 1/500th. Ill have to get used to it. Later this month I am going up to St. Louis to shoot the state football championships in the edward jones dome. apparently it is slightly better...

I would hope the lighting there would be better. All the NJ championship games are outdoors, some at night. Small Division 3 college fields for some, Giants Stadium for a few.

give me some names of the stadiums and I can let you know how they rate as far as lighting goes... (if the information is avalible for those stadiums)

EDIT: like this for Giants Stadium

" Night exposure is around 1/1000 f/2.8 ISO 1600 on the Canon Mark III."

Hey norm. Just saw your post ... make sure you contact the NJSIAA and get an official pass for these games. If you go to Giants Stadium, there is a process of submitting paper work. Otherwise you will get no where near the field or press area.

Kean College is a bit easier, but I would make sure I contact the state.

As for South Jersey teams, I am not sure where those games are hosted.

Vinny,

Thanks for the info. I do some work for a media outlet in the Shore Conference, so I already have my NJSIAA credentials. Once they determine where they will be sending me, they handle any necessary notifications. For the early round games, it is the host school AD. For the finals they contact the NJSIAA. South Jersey games will all be held at the higher seeded school. Looks like most of the Central Jersey games will be at Kean and/or at TCNJ.

Dave, these look quite clean. That IIn repair seems to have done the trick. I didn't peep at 100% but at this size, the AF looks to be right on. Nice job and congrats on the surprise gig.

I do because if you look at the shots with less movement at the time of exposure, they seem noticeably sharper to me.
