I tried Transcend SDHC for small/fast storage on my MacBook Pro (built in SDHC slot). The Transcend 16GB SDHC class 6 was about have the write and read speed of my Sandisk 16GB SDHC class 4.

I sent the Transcend back to Newegg.

I've been using a Transcend 32GB 133X in my 50D since October last year and another in my 1D3 since January. I've recently bought a 5D2 and 7D and have switched the cards to those bodies. I have had no problems whatsoever in around 30K+ frames of shooting.

I felt that for my money I'd benefit more from the extra capacity rather than additional speed. In truth I have only once used over 16GB in any one day, and that was shooting a wedding exclusively with the 50D. I think I could have managed well enough with 16GB cards and saved a little more money, but they should last me well into the future for my new, higher resolution cameras. :)

Mine came from 7dayshop.

I'm not sure I fully understand this - do you mean that you didn't like the Transcend, and that's why you sent it back to Newegg?

He's saying the Class 6 Transcend SDHC was about half the speed of the (nominally slower) SanDisk Class 4 SDHC. That's plenty good enough reason to send a card back, methinks. And the "Class" designation was supposed to enable reliable, repeatable and meaningful speed ratings.

I think where he wrote have it should read half, then it makes sense.

Yes, that would certainly have (half) made more sense!

Oh, wow. Poor grammar on my part. Yes, I meant half.

Using a Transcend 8Gb 266x CF for the past 2 years on 3 different bodies, have had zero problems. Much faster transfer speed compared with comparably priced Sandisk (Ultra II = dogs.) I would not be afraid to go with this brand.

After reading the replies it seems like this, Transcend cards are for the most part safe and reliable, they may or may not be as fast as the industry standard sandisk, but a much cheaper price. Sounds to me you are back at the beginning, they work if speed isnt critical to your task.

That sounds like a fair summation gonzogolf.

OK - one final question. I notice that the prices between the Transcend 8gb and the Sandisk Ultra II 8gB are more or less the same (at least from some sources). How do you think those two particular versions compare?
