I'll shoot the bomb squad in B&W with some vignetting, Geno, you shoot the fire and Flo can grab the landscape of the whole ordeal

I've been thinking of throwing some of my stuff in this time around but YIKES! The competition is going to be brutal... I just don't know if I'm worthy...

I have heard it from many others here, and it is scary to think that photographers who have more experience than I do (at least, more years of experience) can still feel this way. I suppose in a way it might be to be humble and recognize one's own weak point(s), which is not a bad thing at all. But it still makes me question myself to some extent -- how far until I have the knowledge and confidence to produce consistently good work?

Interesting conversation over the last 45 posts or so.

This might sound silly, but I'm just here for the fun and the learning. I had a blast with the LMSYS, and got an honorable mention (which stunned me), but I have no expectation of winning anything during these weekly contests. If I get a few critiques and comments that help me make a better photo, then it will have been well worth it.

Oh, and to answer Jay's question: I like posting the photos I enjoy, even if I don't think they are my best. All I can hope is that they joy I had taking (and tweaking) the photo comes across the viewer, and in my book - that makes me a winner every time :)

some of us have low self esteem and feel like frauds so we need others to boost us up and tell us how amazing we are. ;) :p

And some of us are afraid of the reality check that could be issued and make all of our "I'm a pro photographer and can charge $40 for a 5x7" self-affirmations come crumbling down!

you know, I feel that way. Sometimes I wonder if people just tell me they like my photos to be nice. Because they are nice & if I'm just b&sing my way through my photography career. I think it's normal. At least for some people.
