I'm on hold barring public opinion on the MkIV.

I am too but I don't think I can wait for them to drop to an affordable price on the used market. It'll be 6 years for them to hit under $2000.00.

That's why I'd have to slough off some other gear...

Good Luck Geno.....son just had a survey done of a house he made an offer on, it was well worth it, they thought maybe because of the age the insulation COULD have had zonelite( read: asbestos).Turns out they were in the lucky 30 percentile that didn't use it for insualtion!

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

Then the question becomes: Sell the 40D for a huge loss or sell the 5D for a small profit?

Speaking of the 5D, have you noticed the 5D thread has slowed down since this thread started? :)

Was thinking of going that route also....But my 5Dmk2 is really really sweet....
I agree Jay, the 1.3 crops are such a nice compromise, the mk4 looks like it's gonna be amazing....I just don't want to sell glass to get a body, I use everything in my kit now and would miss any glass I sold.

If it's solid, I'm considering selling off the 5DC, the 40D and my 100mm f/2.8 Macro which doesn't get much use.

Honestly, I'm finding that APS-H is a very good compromise between FF and APS-C and nothing really works as well as a 1-series.

2 of the things on your sell list are on my wishlist...

I'm open to offers.

Not in the same way Penny might be, but open none the less... ;)

How is the 1DSIII at higher ISO's? Same as or better than the 1DIII?

I'll offer this anecdotal evidence regarding the quality of the 1DsMkIII:

Some of you may have heard of Arizona Highways Magazine (external link)

For years and years they've been a bastion of Large-Format film photography. Digital was blasphemy and they simply would not accept digital submissions for the longest time. If it ain't on Silver it ain't spit.

They finally now accept digital and the Front Cover, Back Cover and Middle Spread of the December 2009 issue (the highly coveted and anticipated annual photo issue) were all shot by an aquaintence of mine using the 1DsMkIII.

She also placed in a NatGeo Contest and also garnered the front cover of the Friends of Arizona Highways Workshop catalog!
