This kid made an amazing one-handed grab for 36 yards that gave the team I shoot for a crucial first down. I was just fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.

You have to love the 1D's 8.5 fps! This the sequence I got on this catch. Let me know what you think.

Eric, those are great captures, good exposures and timing. 1,2, and 3, I would crop a lot tighter, the bottom half of the pics add nothing so I would crop that out. Also by cropping tighter you will draw the attention to the players and not that big ugly garage in the back ground. I wish we had day light games down here. :)

Excellent set of photos! Nice to see that the AI servo was able to keep the players in focus for the whole sequence.

The best thing about the sequence is that you were able to track and keep the focus (spot on, BTW) on the receiver. Great work and nice 'catch' on your part.

I'm with the other who said crop off the bottom half of the first 3-4 shots.

Were you using single point AF or expanded to 9 or 11? I've tried loading SI's setting which uses the 11 point and I still get OOF shots. It could be operator error :)

I will give your cropping idea a try. I really wasn't sure how to crop these. The schools around here play daylight games for the playoffs. It sure has been nice the last 3 weeks! I like it much better than the night games, that is for sure.

The AI servo has been spot on! I love the 1D2! It is so much better than the 50D I used for the first 2/3 of the season. If I have an OOF image, its because I messed up, not that the camera was too slow. Thank you, yanr & dave!

I've been using SI's settings, so it is expanded 11 point. I have had good success with it so far!
