Does anyone use these:

Opteka LP-E6 2200mAh Ultra High Capacity Li-ion Battery Pack & Rapid Charger for Canon EOS 7D & 5D Mark II

I understand they would not have the ID chip, but apart from that they could be as good as any other battery? Or not?

I've used Sterlingteks in my XSi and have been extremely satisfied with them (still am).

Thanks in advance.

You'd need to carry both the Canon and the Opteka charger if you want to use both batteries; the Opteka (and all other third-party LP-E6 replacements I am aware of) are incompatible with Canon's charger, and vice versa.

The Canon battery works in the Phottix charger. I have yet to use the Phottix battery, though. The 5DII battery can crank out a lot of images and I haven't found need to drop in a second battery, yet, on any outing.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
