Hi need help with my Canon Powershot SD400, on Halloween I cracked the LCD screen so I ordered a new one from Canon.

After I replaced the cracked LCD I have no sign of life from the new LCD, the backlight works great just the LCD doesn't.

I have connected the camera to my TV using the video out on and I can view old pictures, settings, etc. There isn't that much I could have missed since there is only one ribbon that has to be connected and I did that.

After I cracked the screen I was still able to review old pictures, I did have a big crack showing but I was still able to see ~70% of picture, the rest was black in between cracked lines. The next morning I wasn't able to view anything, I saw just a backlit crack.

Questions:

So, how can i troubleshoot this situation to diagnose what's wrong?
Maybe the LCD that I received is defective, does canon test their suff before they sent it out?

Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

I just replaced the screen on my sd 500 and had the same thing. I didn't force the ribbon cable into the connector far enough
