TheGhostofFM Goldmember 3,982 posts Likes: 8 Joined Apr 2006 Location: Toronto More info | I doubt if my 1DsMkII has the best dynamic range out there at this stage of the game but, I do know that I can make more HDR like shots from a single exposure with it, compared to when I had the 5D. Good post processing chops and programs like ACR5.4 in CS4 have also helped immensely.

Just go to each camera review and click the section on "photographic tests" for dynamic range. Not exactly sure what it all means, if anything. Interestingly, if you compare an XS/XSi with a 50D or a 5D-II, the XS/XSi have a higher dynamic range (at average from ISO 100-800). Of course at higher ISO, the more expensive cameras have the higher DR.

Although, since you asked for an opinion, as opposed to objective testing information, in my opinion the original Digital Rebel (300D) has the best dynamic range for a 3-D, film-like look.
