So, this young 'un was hiding outside our front door this morning due to freaky weather so I thought I'd quickly whip out my camera....which sadly had my 100mm macro attached.

Well....rather than changing lenses and watching him fly away, I thought I'd just creep up slowly, with the camera up to my eye (so as to hide my face which scares birdies, so I heard once).

These two posts are UN-CROPPED pictures. I swear on all the chocolate on the planet!!!

The camera shake in the last one is 100% because I was close-to-trembling that he'd peck my lens!

Any comments welcome, but my point is that sometimes, pretending to be a tripod might actually fool a bird into thinking there's nobody about!
;)

Certainly good close shots, perhaps you should hide your face more often

Looking at his avatar it's no wonder his face scares the birds away.

Seriously though, those are some nice shots.

Thanks guys.
The only downside was that the little guy was perched on my bicycle when I first spotted him, so I had to remove a load of....well, you can guess....from my saddle later in the day!!!

I am surprised that the bird would land there if you had left something like that behind. ;)
