That "professional" shot wasn't anything to write home about. Headline reads "Music industry bows to point-and-shoot cameras" -- Ken

Answer: the professionals were the ones whisked away after Bono and friends finished their third song, and the amateurs were still there, happily shooting to their heart's content.

But someone reading the thread has no idea what the link goes to, other than cnet. I'm just saying that maybe you'll get more discussion and more people with click the link if they have a clue what it is about. A lot of people won't click random links without knowing why. "Interesting Read!" doesn't tell me anything. This isn't my thread, I was just posting the info so that, as you said, people won't have to click the link just to see what it's about. -- Ken

It's everywhere now: sporting events at all levels, auto races, you name it... Pros are under an exponentially increasing pressure to produce unique products that differ from what any regular audience member might be able to get on their own. In other words... Our customers are also our competition. I agree. Even for weddings it getting harder, people just dont seem to care about nice large prints anymore. I went to a friends wedding. He bought a bunch of 12mp P&S Casio cameras. The guest actually did a great job and he returned them to costco the day after the wedding. Even if he didnt return them the 3k was well spent for the photos they got. 1V - AE1- 50D

Agreed but I dont think it will be long before somebody starts renting P&S packages. I thought about it myself after he told me what he was doing. They got plenty of great 8x10's and hundreds of good 4x6's. 1V - AE1- 50D
