Nice work Scott. Bet you are happy to have the gear back in working order. Hope to hear about a state championship victory very soon.

Thanks Kevin and yeah,I'm thrilled. I was seriously beginning to wonder..

I posted a classified on SS to see if any of the papers wanted to save some money by using me to freelance the finals since I'm going to be there already. Makes sense to me but as you might guess, the struggling papers would rather spend $300 on gas, food, and mileage to send one of their own than spend $30 for a couple of images from a stringer. And they wonder why their industry is coming unglued? Either way, I'm going and hope that the boys finish it off!

Isn't that just crazy!! I get the same stuff around here as well. While I am glad they keep their staffers working it seems they could do a lot more if they would better optimize their sources.

Have fun. Looks like the weather in our part of the world should be pretty nice. Two good Friday's in a row. Shocking.

two great Fridays! Heck, it wasn't this nice half the summer. Forecast is 62 and sun and the school is closing at noon with buses leaving at 12:15 to take students that want to go. I know Im cutting out at noon as well and hauling down there as well.

I know that sometimes that isn't possible with other parents all trying to get some team shots as well though.

Oh, the parents mob scene. I'll often approach the coach asking for a team shot, especially after a good game, special victory, when everyone has a big smile on their face. I'll line up the players, clear up clutter (bags, water bottles, etc) turn around and face a mob of parents waiting for me to get out of their way. Sometimes, the parent P&S scene gets more action than the game itself, with pushing, blocking, elbowing, etc. Most don't show any consideration on who they are blocking as long as they get their shot. Being considerate, I often end up missing a good team shot myself, after going through the work of setting it up. Grrrr.

One reason I bought my 18-55 is to get an edge of being able to get in the front. Using my 24-105 was putting me behind everyone else.

that's outstanding! once you get t rep with a local school, thigns seem better since the paretns know what they'll get by letting you get your shots. At new schools or tournaments, its every GWC for him/herself.

No kidding. What's worse, at times, the parents want a picture with themselves in the team shot. I end up with a bunch of P&Ss hanging from my hand as everyone is aking me to take the shot for them.

hey Kev, we lost 1-0 and a late second half missile from just inside the box. Our boys played great in the first but DeSales came out on fire in teh second half and really dominated for about 10-15mins which is when we broke down for a moment. Both sides played well though and both were very gracious in both the win and loss.
