I have a Canadian address on my Visa and had no problem ordering Cybersync triggers and having them shipped to a US address.

PCB has very clearly stated on its website, that as of a certain date, they will no longer accept orders from new customers outside US and Canada.

They have just announced an Auzzie distributor and are rumored to be near announcing a European distributor.

As for Caribbean and SA who knows.

There are a lot of reasons for a company to set geographic limitations. Shipping, support cost, fraud, are among them.

The regulatory climate in Europe adds substantially to product cost, compared to the US.

ROHS is another consideration for something like the Cyber Syncs and Monolights.

When you can sell all you build without adding cost associated with small sub-markets there is little incentive to satisfy the sub-market, incurring the added cost which dilutes margin.

I'm puzzled by why you don't just ask your friend to buy them and then pay him back too? He has to ship them to you anyways, no?
Seems like the least painful thing to do...

And if you were in a US company's shoes, what you're doing also sounds a bit suspicious because there are a lot of scammers in your area of the world (no way to say this nicely I'm afraid, so sorry if you took that as an insult but it was not intentional)-:

Kenyee, why are you puzzled? Have you for a moment considered the friend's financial position? I find myself in similar situations a lot of the time and what has worked is me wiring money to my friend so they can place the order and ship to me once they receive it. One used my money for other things and got back to me with excuses so now, I'd rather let them only receive the parcel and not my money. Also, lots of people are broke in these times and quite a number of them get embarrassed when they make you realize they can't afford the cheapest things.

I also would be happy if you can withdraw your "lot of scammers in your area of the world" comment. It is inappropriate and unfortunate. How many people have scammed you from Jamaica? This is an international forum and I think you must be sensitive to that.

PCB has every right as a business to implement whatever policy makes it safe for them as a business; and especially for a small business I can understand their stance.

Might be worth a call PCB customer service.

Errr...doesn't sound like a "friend" to me...or as they say, "with friends like that..."

Like I said...sorry about the scammers comment, but if you want to see how bad it is, do a quick google:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com …7/ns/world_news-americas/ (external link)
It's not to say scammers don't exist in the US, we get our share of suspicion as well. E.g., I went on a roadtrip to NYC, then came back the same day and refueled in both places. When I got back, I had a phone call from the credit card company wondering if the NYC transaction was illegal. And there's the tale of my credit card company shutting down my credit card because I had to buy a few items off ebay for a project that took about a day of phone calls to resolve.
And of course you know about the Nigerian scams. Scammers are everywhere, so any suspicious transactions are shut down by credit companies first so they can minimize their losses.

You could use the included cables to connect to the 580ex2 pc port - fairly sure that cable's included. Personally I use these cables (external link) to connect between the receiver and the flash, since I have flashes like the 550EX that don't have a pc port, and I don't like sync ports anyway. I also use a FlashZebra screwlock cable to connect between the transmitter and the cameras sync port, which has the added bonus of making sure the transmitter doesn't fall off the camera hotshoe - the skyports don't lock in place at all and do fall off occasionally.
