Some very good panning shots have been posted here but the one that is the most unique is the one I've chosen as the winner.

John_B, you're up! Did you hold the rose in your hand and spin in circles? :)

Geno DM,
 Wow this was a surprise  and thanks, glad you liked it :)

I whipped up that photo by putting a fake rose on the end of a broom stick, then with the camera mounted on my tripod, flash in second-curtain sync mode panned from right to left.

Thanks all, as you all submitted beautiful panning photos :)
give me a few and I will whip up the next DSLR Speed Challenge #123

Nicely Done John...

Good that you offer the backstory as well.

Congrats John! That was a very creative way to do the assignment.

I'm with Chris this time. I didn't have any motion panning shots, and folks I wanted to use as my guinea pigs were busy this week. :)

There were some great action shots in here this week though!

There were some great shots in here. I really liked a few of them but thought John's originality and creativity was deserving of the win.

Well said, Geno! I was totally impressed by John's approach and wish I'd thought of something like that. I admit I was thinking inside the box of the usual motion panning type shots (which I still want to try). John showed us all we can create our own if we think a little differently. Heck, that's one of the reasons I love this forum. We see all kinds of approaches to themes and ideas and very creative ways to execute them. :)
