Here are some of my pics from sunday at Historic Sandown.

A BMW had gone off into the gravel trap in front of me and sprayed dust everywhere caught the Torana airborne over the curb from the corner of my eye, quickly spun around and fired a few shots. The driver was Ok (Lindsay Woolward), the fire was put out quickly and there was not to much damage to the car, apparently some oil had been dropped on the track.

Of course had the wrong settings for these shots (was taking some slow shutter speed shots 1/60 sec) and had a huge cloud of dust. This is my best effort salvaging the shots in PS.

Nice set T_O_M.
Love the "graining" of the tyres in #1
I'm so pi$$ed I didn't get off my fat arts and make the trip to Sandown.
I saw some shots in this weeks Motorsport eNews of Woolwards car and didn't realise it was the ex Garth Wigston mount.
Looks like it was a pretty big hit. Hate seeing stuff like this happen to classics.
Lindsay didn't waste anytime gettin out.
Do you know if there is much damage?

Was trying to work out where it happened - was it about 1/2 way down the hill on the run into Dandenong Rd?

Here's a tear sheet from eNews

Same as this average Joe. These shots were taken at Dandenong Rd corner. There is a wire mesh fence in front of you but you fit a small zoom through the mesh. My 400mm f5.6 L does not fit through but I can barley position it to avoid the wire. The main straight you have no problems and the back of the track there are a couple spots that you can shoot over the top of the fence. The whole track is only open for Historic Sandown (half of main straight) & the V8 Supercars, most other events half of the main straight is open.

Tom.
