What's your opinion of the HDR part of PTGui Pro.

I don't do much with HDR and I'm not so much looking for the extreme tone-mapping look as I am expanding the Dynamic range in a natural looking way.

With 360 panoramams...large parts of sky and shaded areas or well lit rooms with dark hallways it looks to me like HDR is gonna be nessacary.

So do I spend the extra $120 for the Pro Version or do I go with the Regular version and use the saved money to go with another program purpose built for the job of HDR?

Your user input is highly appriciated....

After playing with the trial version i went ahead with Ptgui Pro.....

Not so much of an informed decision as a "Well I guess it should work"

It will be nice having it integrated in the stitching software.

I have been toying with VR Panos for some time and have decided it's time to do it right....Damn, these things have a steep learning curve! >>>>At least for me<<<<

Neumanns - are you aware of this site:

and the work of Christian Bloch? You should be. Have a look at the gallery and the 80 bazillion megapixel HDR pano of Karakoram. Christian does exemplary work.
