Thanks guys,
I am back now in the tropics after a week of shivering in 0degrees and sometimes minus when I was out wandering in the street markets and the mornings too. There were times when I was in the ski resort the temperature was also just as low.

To my surprise (as advised I took my 5D2) the battery acted superbly. It did not react unpredicatably as my AA rechargeable batteries for my Powershot and Fuji compact which I carrried for simple shots. Sometimes the AA do not work when it becomes cold.

But my 5D2 braved all this and in the night with my 50mm f1.8 set at IS02000 I simply shot without flash to be inconspicuous when roaming the night markets.

I was a bit late to be in Korea as the leaves had turned brown and fallen tho some were still red.

The next time my trip there would be strictly national parks and parks to shoot maples and colour.

Anyway for those who wants to visit the east, Korea is definitely a good choice - safe with modern facilities and fantastic bridges and highway. And the parks and National Parks are fantastic too. But it has to be on a guided tour unless you speak Korean.

Korea is one of my favorites. Just about my favorite place in Seoul is Changdeok Palace. It's an incredible place - you would never know you are in the middle of a major city. I imagine it would be beautiful in winter too.

South Korea doesn't get all that cold - about like Chicago. Not a big worry - just make sure you bring the camera up and down in temperature carefully especially when coming inside.
